Shutterstock UK appoints MWWPR, Young PR Lions UK shortlist, Tandem hires Eulogy, Cycling Festival brings in Bird, and more from PRWeek UK.

Shutterstock UK appoints MWWPR 

Shutterstock, the global provider of licensed photography, illustrations and videos for businesses and media organisations, has appointed MWWPR to a UK corporate brief, following a three-way competitive pitch. The account was previously held by Ogilvy.

MWW will manage media relations to position Shutterstock as a technology brand, as well as raise awareness of its new products among creative professionals and small business owners. The agency will also support the growth of the company's editorial business following the acquisition of Rex Features.

PRCA reveals shortlist for Young PR Lions UK competition

Six teams have been shortlisted to win the Young PR Lions UK Award this year, and one of them will be heading to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity to take part in the international competition in June. 

The shortlisted agency teams are:

  • Cohn & Wolfe – Emma-Naomi Van Braningen MPRCA and Felicity Haslehurst MPRCA
  • FleishmanHillard Fishburn – Adam Gaworski MPRCA and Amelie Exton MPRCA
  • Hotwire – Tom Rouse MPRCA and Matt Noble MPRCA
  • Hotwire – Matt Watson MPCRA and Paul Stollery MPRCA
  • salt – Kiera Donovan MPRCA and Joshua Eyre MPRCA
  • WE Communications – Naiema Ashraf MPRCA and Hugh Adams MPRCA

The agencies were narrowed down from 40 UK competitors, after responding to a brief set by the NSPCC, which performed as the ‘client’. Participating agencies had 24 hours to create a campaign.

The shortlisted teams will be asked to deliver a five-minute presentation explaining their PR campaign on 22 March at H+K Strategies in London. The winning team will be announced the following day and will receive free flights, accommodation and delegate passes to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Tandem calls in Eulogy 

Tandem, a new full-service bank that aims to challenge the traditional banking model, has appointed Eulogy as its retained PR agency, ahead of its launch later this year.

Eulogy won the work following a competitive pitch. The agency's brief is to deliver an integrated campaign that will tell the Tandem story, raising awareness and social buzz for the challenger bank. A key focus is to introduce Tandem to potential customers who have become disenfranchised by their current bank. 


Spin Cycling Festival hires PR firm

Manchester PR firm Bird has been appointed to handle the PR for Spin – The Cycling Festival, which comes to Manchester for the first time in May.

Bird will work with event organiser Mercury Events to promote the show among cycling enthusiasts in the North West. The festival will showcase more than 100 cycling brands and feature DJs and pop-up bars.

Street & Co to represent Savile Row's first female master tailor

Street & Co has been hired to run the press office for Kathryn Sargent, as she becomes the first female 'master tailor' to open a shop on Savile Row in Mayfair next month.

The agency will oversee the launch of the shop as a London destination to both UK and international media, while focusing on Sargent’s bespoke tailoring for both women and men. The team will also support her role in London Craft Week, which takes place in May.
