Travelex appoints Hotwire, Aspectus opens Aberdeen office, Unity appoints two and more from PRWeek UK.

Travelex appoints Hotwire

The foreign exchange company Travelex has appointed Hotwire as its lead PR agency across the UK, Germany, The Netherlands and The US. The Hotwire team will be responsible for driving consumer engagement as the brand celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Hotwire was appointed after successfully delivering two campaigns last year for Travelex Supercard and Travelex Money App. The incumbent agency was M&C Saatchi PR.

Aspectus opens Aberdeen office 

Aspectus, a global comms agency specialising in the energy, engineering and financial services sectors, has opened an office in Aberdeen to support its growing oil and gas client base. Megain Buchan has been appointed as account manager to lead the company’s Aberdeen operation. Previously a client of Aspectus, Buchan joins the company from ProSep, the oil, gas and produced water specialist.

Unity appoints two

Unity has appointed John Carolan as the agency's first planning director, joining from media network Carat where he had spent four years as lead strategist. He will focus on audience insight, comms strategy and planning, and storytelling. Also arriving is Andrew Soar as head of engagement – Soar rejoins the agency following two years as associate creative director at Shine.

RSPCA appoints Open Door

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' South Cotswolds branch has appointed Open Door PR to launch its new Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home, which will open in September 2016. The agency will be responsible for event marketing and merchandise promotion, including the publicising of bespoke items created for the organisation by Wallace and Gromit illustrator Nick Park and poet Martin Kiszko.

Carousel appointed for Roald Dahl centenary

Carousel PR has been appointed to handle the media relations for Roald Dahl’s Tremendous Adventures at Tatton Park - a year-long programme of events to celebrate 100 years since the author's birth. The National Trust park in Cheshire will host events throughout the year, from adventure trails to a book cover exhibition, summer picnic and outdoor cinema screening.

Clementine wins Pierre Hermé UK

Clementine Communications has won a new brief with Pierre Hermé UK, a bakery firm created in 1997 by Pierre Hermé, heir to four generations of Alsatian bakery and pastry-making tradition.
