Watch: Asahi campaign puts people in the drink with ping-pong balls and malty condensation

Japanese lager brand Asahi and creative agency 10x have launched a super slow-motion video booth that will tour the UK, as part of an integrated PR campaign.

The ‘Asahi Slow-Mo Booth’, which launches today, enables up to four people to capture their best moments in cinematic slow motion video and share them on social media.

The three-metre high booth, which is in the shape of an Asahi pint glass, will premier today at Truman Brewery in east London, before beginning a UK tour around some of the nation’s top venues and events, details of which will be released on social media.

The booth has a range of special effects, including a jet of malt-infused condensation, mimicking the experience of opening a bottle of beer, and 100 ping-pong balls launched two metres into the air from a secret trap door, mirroring the bubbles in beer – all aiming to make guests feel like they are literally inside a pint of Asahi.

To launch the booth Asahi has released a video:

Video from the booth will be sent to guests so they can post it on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the #AsahiSlowMo hashtag.

Asahi UK brand manager Samantha Catford said: "We wanted to create an experience that’s fun, exciting, shareable but also one that conveys the crisp and refreshing qualities of Asahi Super Dry. The result is a world-first: a branded super slow-mo booth that takes the photo booth concept to the next level while linking to the brand’s unique qualities and reputation for innovation."
