Netflix hires Spotify SEA PR head for consumer role

Belle Baldoza joins the on-demand video streaming service as its APAC consumer PR manager

Netflix continues to build up its comms team in Asia-Pacific following its entry into the region, by hiring Belle Baldoza as consumer PR manager for APAC.

Baldoza arrives from music streaming platform Spotify, where she spent two-and-a-half years as head of PR for Southeast Asia.

Her role consisted of leading media engagement and influencer relations, planning and implementing PR campaigns, and coordinating with brand partners across five markets: Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Before that, Baldoza worked as an account manager in the consumer PR division at Ogilvy & Mather, and as a business planning consultant at Mindshare.

In her role at Netflix, Baldoza will work closely with the brand’s PR agency, MSLGroup, and report to Netflix’s global consumer PR team.

"I'm really thrilled to join the Asia comms team at Netflix and look forward to working on exciting PR campaigns," she told PRWeek Asia.

Baldoza's arrival follows that of Jessica Lee, who joined Netflix in January from McDonald’s as its first APAC corporate comms director.
