Cisco's David McCulloch to join GE

The senior director of corp comms at Cisco tweeted Tuesday night that he's taking a new role at GE next month.

SAN JOSE, CA: Cisco senior director of corporate communications David McCulloch is set to move to GE next month.

McCulloch will join GE on March 14 to lead global communications for GE Power Digital, a new software business, he said via email. McCulloch described the group’s mission as "to solve one of the world’s most important problems: providing clean, sustainable, accessible power and water to every single person on earth."

He will stay in northern California, based at GE’s digital headquarters in San Ramon. McCulloch said via email that he will partner with GE GM and Chief Digital Officer Ganesh Bell to boost industry awareness of how technology can provide clean water and more efficient power generation and distribution.

He tweeted about the new role on Wednesday night.

McCulloch joined Cisco in 2008 as director of corporate communications. He was promoted in May 2013 to senior director of corporate comms. Previously, he was an EVP at Text100 and a consultant at Taylor Alden PR and Marketing, according to his LinkedIn profile.

McCulloch won PR Professional of the Year at the 2014 PRWeek Awards.
