Lansons hires James Dowling as head of public policy

Lansons has hired James Dowling from FleishmanHillard, for the newly created role of head of public policy.

Dowling started his new role yesterday (16 February) and the agency said he will strengthen Lansons’ capability in public affairs, policy and government relations. He will report to director Ralph Jackson.

He has spent the past four years at FleishmanHillard as a director in the corporate team. Before this he spent more than five years at HM Treasury, most recently as head of the insurance sector policy division.

He initially entered Government in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, before moving to the Treasury in 2006.

Jackson said Dowling would be "an excellent addition to the team, with his experience at the Treasury in particular an invaluable asset to our existing clients and to aid business development".

"Our integrated approach means we pride ourselves on creating teams that draw on expertise from all disciplines, as our consultants are experts in strategic counsel, employee engagement, media relations, content creation, change management, public affairs and stakeholder engagement. James is the ideal person to bolster our public policy capability and all our clients and practitioners can benefit from this expertise," he added.
