Tech trade body appoints MWW
TechUK, the trade organisation for the UK tech industry, has appointed MWW to provide external comms, following a competitive pitch, initially on a project basis. The agency has been brought in to help manage increasing media demand as interest in the tech sector continues to grow. The account will be led by Simon Gentry.
McCarthy & Stone hires Powerscourt
UK housebuilder McCarthy & Stone has appointed Powerscourt to advise on its financial and corporate comms, following a competitive pitch process. McCarthy & Stone floated on the London Stock Exchange at the end of last year and is expected to enter the FTSE250 at the next review in March. Directors Justin Griffiths and Nick Dibden will lead the Powerscourt team.
Fox Agency hires 30 Under 30's David Clare
Specialist b2b agency Fox has appointed David Clare from Hotwire as digital marketing director. Last year Clare was named as one of PR Week’s 30 Under 30. In his previous position at Hotwire, he led the strategy and planning for FTSE100 clients, specialising in online comms. He has also held roles at agencies including Blue Rubicon, Nitro Digital and 33 Digital.
Peppermint Soda launches academy
Peppermint Soda has partnered with the PRCA and creatives association D&AD to form the Peppermint Soda Academy, under which staff will have access to an annual training budget and progression plan. FleishmanHillard also recently partnered with the PRCA to launch a training offer.
Ritz-Carlton's new PR director
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has appointed Alistair Scott as regional director, public relations, Europe. Scott joined the company in the middle of last month from Harrods. He will report to Allison Sitch, vice-president, global PR. In his new role he will be based in London, working alongside agencies The Massey Partnership in the UK, and GCE which represents the company within the German market.
