Illinois looks for agency partner for summer food service program

The state's Board of Education is searching for an agency to work on a multifaceted outreach program.

SPRINGFIELD, IL: The Illinois Board of Education is looking for an agency partner to support its summer food service program.

The Board is looking for assistance with a "multifaceted outreach campaign" including mail, TV, radio, and print campaigns, as well as making contact with potential sponsors and sites to host program efforts, according to an invitation to bid released this week. It also wants the successful bidder to provide consulting services.

Target audiences include "low-income populations, minorities, and minority language participants," according to the document.

Bids are due by March 2, and work is scheduled to run through the end of September. Two annual renewals are possible, according to the document. An expected budget will be announced closer to the award date and "may be partially or totally funded with federal funds," according to the documents.

Questions for the board about the contract are due February 16.

An Illinois Board of Education representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
