P&O operator promotes PR chief

Michele Andjel has been promoted to the new role of PR director at Carnival UK, the UK operating company for P&O Cruises and Cunard. She was previously head of PR, and has been at the firm for 11 years. Experience prior to this included 10 years at agency Charles Barker.

International Baccalaureate appoints Conscious

Non-profit body the International Baccalaureate Organisation, which overseas the secondary education curriculum, has appointed Cambridge's Conscious Communications to handle public relations activities across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Ocado brings in Creation

The agency Creation has been taken on as the consumer PR agency for Ocado, replacing M&C Saatchi PR which has held the account since 2012. Having won the account late last year, Creation now manages Ocado's press office and campaign work.

John Lewis Hires Golley Slater North

Golley Slater PR North has won a competitive pitch that began in the summer to run the corporate and consumer comms for John Lewis' upcoming Leeds shop opening. The opening will take place in late 2016.

Sky Academy appoints Aduro

Sky Academy, the broadcaster's scholarship programme offering funding to emerging artists, has hired Aduro Communications to help drive awareness of its 2016 programme, following a competitive pitch. The programme offers £150,000 of funding for creative projects and is open to five emerging artists.

SafeLives hires new comms head

Domestic abuse charity SafeLives has taken on Penny East as its new head of comms following Antonia Bance's departure to become TUC comms chief last summer. East joined from post-London Olympic project Spirit of 2012 and has previously worked at Comic Relief. Also joining the charity is new director of programmes and innovation Suzanne Jacob, who had previously worked at Weber Shandwick.

Emirate appoints PR Mediaco

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, the tourist office for one of the emirates of the UAE, has taken on PR Mediaco to run its UK PR activity across both consumer and trade sectors.

Bang & Olufsen PR moves to Six Degrees
