NEW YORK: NBCUniversal has promoted Hilary Smith to SVP of corporate communications, according to numerous media reports. She was previously the communications leader for USA Network. Smith is replacing Cameron Blanchard, who is joining Conde Nast.

CINCINNATI: Kroger has promoted Kate Ward to director of investor relations. She is succeeding Cindy Holmes, who was promoted to senior director of pension investments. Ward joined the supermarket chain in 2001 as an auditor.

WATERLOO, ON: The Jeff Eller Group and Scout Public Affairs have begun an agency affiliation with the goal of giving clients in-market public affairs and crisis communications expertise in the US and Canada. Eller has worked on crisis response for GM.

NEW YORK: Dinnerware and home décor company Fitz and Floyd has named 5W Public Relations as its PR AOR. The firm will also support its Maxwell & Williams tabletop and home goods sister brand.

SUWANEE, GA: Strategic Vision LLC has rebranded itself as Strategic Vision PR Group, a trademark of Strategic Vision LLC. It is also adding a division focused on lifestyle, sports, and entertainment. Strategic Vision LLC was founded in 2001.
