HR chief Massimo Macarti moves to EMEA head of comms role at Canon

Printer, scanner and digital camera firm Canon Europe has named Massimo Macarti as the company's chief of comms across the EMEA region.

In his new role, Macarti will report directly to Rokus van Iperen, president and chief executive of Canon EMEA.

Macarti joined Canon in Italy in 1991, and held a number of roles across the business including marketing director and corporate comms and planning director, before becoming HR director in 2003. He then became Canon EMEA chief of HR in 2006, a role he held until taking his new role.

Macarti succeeds James Leipnik, who retired last month following a 32-year career with Canon.

Van Iperen said: "Massimo has built up extensive management expertise and industry experience both at Canon’s EMEA regional headquarters and in local country operations. His strategic leadership skills will help drive the continued development of our communications function and strategy across EMEA for the future."

Canon works with PR firms including Creston and handed a UK brief to Red Lorry Yellow Lorry earlier this year.
