NEW YORK: The nonprofit Ms. Foundation for Women has brought on Global Strategy Group for communications support.
The firm will lead a comms program to refine the group’s messaging about its mission and values through a program that includes stakeholder research, media analysis, and digital and social media strategy.
Tanya Meck, EVP and MD at Global Strategy Group, will lead account work, along with Ms. Foundation president and CEO Teresa Younger. The group lends financial support to more than 100 groups dedicated to reproductive health, child sexual abuse prevention, affordable child care, and quality child care jobs.
Meck said the firm’s work with the Ms. Foundation aligns well with its previous efforts, with the agency adding to its nonprofit and foundation roster that includes the Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. She added that many employees wanted to get involved with gender-equality efforts.
Global Strategy Group’s New York office will lead account work. There was no competitive bid before the firm was hired.
Angelique Roche, senior director of external affairs at the Ms. Foundation, said the group is looking for avenues to boost its messaging for organizations it supports around the country. The agency will measure the success of its #MyFeminismIs campaign in terms of where and how it is reaching audiences.
In 2014, GSG began working with clients such as GlobalFoundries, Food Policy Action, the American Council on Renewable Energy, and the Colorado Health Foundation.
Contract details were not disclosed, but Meck said she hopes the relationship will be long-term.
This story was updated to correct the organizations Global Strategy Group has worked with, adding the Gates Foundation.
