Chris Wynn confirmed in top comms job at regulator Ofcom

Chris Wynn has been appointed to the role of director of comms at the broadcaster and comms regulator Ofcom.

Wynn had held the job on an acting basis since June, after predecessor Clayton Hirst left to join Virgin Media.

Following a recruitment process that included external candidates, Wynn has now been given a permanent promotion from his previous role of head of media and corporate relations.

Wynn has worked at Ofcom since 2009, initially working as a media analyst, and was previously a journalist covering the TV and comms industries, laterally as editorial director at publishing firm Informa.

Wynn told PRWeek: "Access to reliable communications is now crucial to the way people work and live. I’m thrilled to be leading communications at Ofcom during such a fascinating time for the organisation and the sector."
