Todd starts his new role in November, reporting to director of comms Tashi Lassalle. He succeeds John Battersby, who left to become head of comms at peer-to-peer lending group RateSetter in April this year.

Todd will head Lloyd's of London’s external comms team, including overseeing the media operation. His brief is to develop the key strategic messaging campaign to promote Lloyd's worldwide as part of the group's 'Vision 2025' ambition to be the global centre of specialist insurance and reinsurance.

The FCA will now advertise for Todd’s replacement.

Todd joined the FCA in May 2013, shortly after the organisation was formed following the abolition of the Financial Services Authority. He previously spent three years at the Department for Work and Pensions, where he was also head of news.
