Thomson and First Choice appoint Exposure for UK brand PR campaigns

TUI Group, the owner of holiday brands Thomson and First Choice, has hired Exposure on a one-year contract to develop brand PR campaigns following a competitive pitch, PRWeek has learned.

PRWeek reported last month that the tourism company was looking for a PR agency to cover a range of services.

Exposure will deliver brand PR campaigns for the group in the UK, with Lisa Jones, general manager of external comms for TUI UK & Ireland, confirming the appointment.

Earlier this year, TUI confirmed it would phase out the Thomson and First Choice brands and bring them together under one roof. The rebranding follows the merger of the group's UK and German operations last year.

This year has also seen major changes to the PR function at TUI rival Thomas Cook, in the wake of criticism of the latter's handling of the deaths of two children in Corfu in 2006.
