This week's PR- and communications-related news was dominated by several high-profile stories, most notably the recent discovery that German automaker Volkswagen had purposely installed software on some of their cars to mislead regulatory groups regarding the cars' emissions, and Pope Francis' speaking tour of America. Making more PR-specific headlines: Alibaba's head of comms, who penned an unprecedented 2,000-word response to a highly critical article published in investment magazine Barron's; and Richard Edelman, who announced that he would begin splitting his time between offices in New York City and his native home of Chicago.
