Activities will focus on MOBO’s Rise With Us Season, which starts on Monday (28 September) and will feature a range of cultural events and initiatives across music and other creative industries.

W will also help publicise a report called Diversity in the Creative Industries, produced by The Creative Industries Federation in partnership with MOBO. The report outlines a series of steps the UK’s creative sector must take if it is to be truly representative of Britain’s communities.

It marks 20 years since MOBO was founded.

W was appointed following a competitive pitch. The Outside Organisation still has the brief to handle PR for the MOBO Awards themselves.

Warren Johnson, W founder and CEO, said: "MOBO is one of the most famous and influential music brands in the world, with a reputation for breaking and nurturing both the rising and established stars of the music industry. MOBO Rise With Us is an extraordinary cultural initiative very much needed within the creative sector, and we’re excited to be a part of it."

Kanya King, CEO of MOBO, said: "W came to us with a fresh and exciting strategy that we are confident will showcase the best of what we do. MOBO aims to provide the most comprehensive portrait of diversity in the UK’s creative industries, and W Communications won us over with their enthusiasm, and an unparalleled understanding of the MOBO brand and its core values."
