Erica Orthmann: The Innovation 50

LaunchSquad’s cofounder and partner Jason Mandell told PRWeek that, since launching a video service in 2008, the firm’s content marketing and services group has quickly grown, now accounting for 20% of its $14 million revenue. That is in no small part due to Erica Orthmann, who has headed up content for the agency since 2011, overseeing a team of editors, writers, and social media marketers across three offices. She is also a VP in the Boston office, running b-to-b and consumer tech accounts. LaunchSquad clients include a lot of startups, but also the likes of AOL, Clear Channel, and Facebook.

In her spare time, Orthmann organizes events to bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) students together with female entrepreneurs. She started out in journalism as a local newspaper reporter in upstate New York, before kicking off her now decade-long PR career in-house at technology publisher TechTarget and agency side at Schwartz Communications and Lewis PR.
