More than a dozen of the tech stars on PRWeek’s Innovation 50 made a move this year after a number of years with the same employer. Rachael Horwitz is one of those bright lights. In May, the former comms director for Twitter joined social media rival Facebook as director of technology comms. Horwitz spent more than four years at Twitter, during which time the micro-blogging platform launched new services such as video-sharing app Vine and had its much-hyped IPO. In her role, she led the consumer, media and product PR teams.
Before starting at Twitter in 2011, Horwitz spent almost a year at Seattle-based consumer engagement agency 206 Inc. She has also been an account manager at Cutline Communications and senior account executive at FleishmanHillard. Horwitz will have no shortage of news to promote on behalf of Facebook. The social media giant has several product launches in the pipeline.
