Brian Burlingame to replace Jeffrey Sharlach as JeffreyGroup CEO

Burlingame, who has served as JeffreyGroup's COO for 15 years, will become CEO on October 1.

MIAMI: JeffreyGroup CEO Jeffrey Sharlach will be replaced by the firm’s COO, Brian Burlingame, effective October 1.

Sharlach will continue as the firm’s chairman and managing partner of Intercom Americas, JeffreyGroup’s holding company. Sharlach founded JeffreyGroup in 1993.

Burlingame joined JeffreyGroup 15 years ago, and has served as the firm’s COO since 2005. In that role, he has managed the day-to-day operations and finances of JeffreyGroup’s seven wholly owned offices in New York, Miami, Mexico City, Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires since 2010.

Burlingame told PRWeek that he plans to continue the firm's exclusive focus on the Latin America region and in particular delivering the level of service and results that multinational companies and brands "expect and demand."

"Given our unique expertise in Latin America, we will also continue to expand our strategic services in the areas of public affairs, insights, and analysis, and corporate marketing and communications trainings," he said.

Regarding his prior COO position, Burlingame said his Miami-based headquarters operations team will continue to report to him and oversee the financial and operational activities throughout the agency.

Previously, Burlingame served as marketing manager for environmental technology firm SystemOne Technologies.

JeffreyGroup works with multinational companies and brands in Latin America. Its clients include Airbnb, Airbus, American Airlines, Bayer, Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Nikon, Spotify, and Xerox.

Last January, JeffreyGroup spun off its US Hispanic operations to launch a separate integrated communications and advertising agency called Pinta.
