PR industry gears up for Rugby World Cup 2015

PR and marketing efforts for the Rugby World Cup 2015 are well under way with the tournament kicking off next Friday, 18 September.

A record 2.45 million tickets have been allocated for the 48 matches, over 400,000 international visitors are expected to descend on the UK and billions will be watching worldwide.

High-profile companies including Canon, Coca Cola, Duracell, Emirates, Heineken, Land Rover and Mastercard have signed up as sponsors and partners in an attempt to capitalise on this global audience, but plenty of other brands are also expected to try and boost their brand by association once the tournament is under way, using the hashtag #RWC2015.
