Rebecca joins AFME from Moorgate Communications where she was a senior account manager for financial institutions and financial services clients.

She also has expertise in transaction banking and trade finance, and before entering PR worked as a translator for the European Parliament in Luxembourg.

Hansford is based in the association's London office. The organisation, which was formed in November 2009 through the merger of the London Investment Banking Association and the European arm of the Securities Industries and Financial Markets Association, also has a base in Brussels.

It has more than 70 full members and advocates "stable, competitive, sustainable European financial markets that support economic growth and benefit society", its website says.
