Global management consultancy Appirio hires Octopus

Octopus Group has secured a brief with global management consultancy Appirio to handle an ongoing PR and content marketing campaign.

Octopus won the account following a three-way pitch. The account was previously held by 3 Monkeys, which did not repitch.

Appirio, established in 2006, helps companies run cloud-based business. Its clients have included Starbucks, Virgin America and Yahoo. It recently announced a partnership with Apple with app development.

Octopus’ brief is to help Appirio align its marketing with sales and assist with lead generation and growth.

Edwin Abl, head of marketing EMEA at Appirio, said: "Octopus Group is a great fit for us and we were really impressed with the team’s knowledge of our industry, its creative approach and big ideas."

Laura Slade, group director of Octopus, said: "This gives us an opportunity to run a varied and creative programme that drives brand engagement, generates leads and nurtures prospects through the sales cycle."
