Woods, who joins today and becomes a board director at Lansons, was previously a deputy managing director at Ogilvy and worked on large global accounts including AstraZeneca. She previously worked for Say Communications.

In addition to her day job, Woods runs a social enterprise called ColliderSCIENCE, which aims to get young people interested in science and innovation.

According to a Lansons press release, the new division will "help healthcare clients navigate disruption and develop opportunities in a turbulent healthcare environment".

Lansons has already been working with healthcare clients in employee engagement and change briefs, including clients such as Novartis and Simplyhealth.

Tony Langham, chief executive and co-founder of Lansons, said: "Our focus is on reputation management for significant organisations. We’re finding success in the healthcare sector, and Tina’s recruitment will push us forward faster. She’s an impressive recruit, and this is an exciting day for us."

Woods said: "I am greatly looking forward to working with the Lansons team to build the health business in a very dynamic sector that is seeing new players enter the space and changing very quickly as a result of technological and consumer pressures. Clients want proactive, agile agencies that can help them innovate, differentiate and communicate their value proposition effectively in an increasingly complex health ecosystem."
