AkzoNobel hands Dulux UK trade account to Lucre PR

AkzoNobel, the manufacturing company that owns paint brands Dulux and Armstead, has appointed Lucre on a retained basis to manage its trade PR in the UK, following a four-way pitch.

Tangerine held the account until the end of last year.

Lucre will develop campaigns for Dulux Trade and Armstead, engaging with the decorating and design industry across multiple channels. As a new product, the agency will bring the Armstead brand to life through a variety of creative communications initiatives.

Jamie Barber, senior marketing manager for customer and communication professional brands at AkzoNobel, said: "We’re very excited to be welcoming Lucre into the existing agency group. It has a vision for our trade brand communications built on a clearly defined strategy. This strategy has allowed it to present us with a creative proposition that will help to achieve the colourful ambitions of the business for the rest of the year and beyond."

Rhona Templer, managing director at Lucre London, added: "It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining the AkzoNobel journey. The newest brand to the stable, Armstead, offers a wealth of opportunity to help bring the proposition to life and fulfil its role as a challenger brand in the market. The quality, innovation and expertise in Dulux Trade affords us the chance to create campaigns which resonate as widely as the much loved consumer brand and we’re looking forward to putting our ideas into practice and making an impact."
