Golin's Josh Morton steps into new role at Kellogg

He had served as director of issues and crisis management at Golin since fall 2010.

BATTLE CREEK, MI: Cereal giant Kellogg has hired Golin crisis management director Josh Morton as associate director of communications.

Morton joined Kellogg’s corporate communications team this week, reporting to Susan Davison, senior director of external communications. The role is newly created, a Kellogg spokesperson told PRWeek via email.

Morton’s responsibilities include managing a variety of communications initiatives to enhance the company’s corporate reputation.

Before joining Kellogg, Morton served as Golin’s director of issues and crisis management after joining the firm in September 2010, according to his LinkedIn profile. He worked with clients such as McDonald’s, GlaxoSmithKline, and Mead Johnson Nutrition while at the firm.

Morton left Golin earlier this month. The Interpublic Group agency is interviewing external candidates to fill his former position, said Scott Farrell, president of global corporate communications at Golin.

"We wish him well," he said. "He was a wonderful member of the crisis and issues team and made some great contributions while he was with us. I know he will do the same at his new job."

Earlier in his career, Morton worked at food and nutrition marketing company FoodMinds and Weber Shandwick.
