PRCA DARE Awards Midlands winners announced

The winners of the PRCA DARE Awards Midlands have been announced, with Wyatt International, Willoughby Public Relations and PDSA among those crowned on the night.

The PRCA’s third DARE Awards in the Midlands, held at The Birmingham REP last night, recognised PR and comms excellence in 10 categories.

Consultancy of the Year was awarded to Willoughby Public Relations, for demonstrating "exemplary staff retention", with a strong focus on people and "delivering on objectives".

The agency also took home the Consumer Relations Award, and the Technology, Trade and B2B Award for its work on the Two Together Railcard Launch and the Factory Ergonomics – Driving Quality and Profitability projects, respectively.

The wins follow Monday's announcement that Willoughby has completed a management buyout.

PDSA picked up the In-House Team of the Year Award, with judges noting "good team work" and "creative ideas" resulting in increased funding for the veterinary charity.

Wyatt International walked away with the Digital and Social Strategy Award and the Media, Marketing, and Measurement Award, for its work on BuildFire: Fire Start-Up and Cambridge Judge Business School’s ALP LinkedIn Prospecting.

Other winners were Cogent Elliott PR, which won the Campaign Challenges Award for its ‘0 Years of The VW Transporter work, and Gough Bailey Wright who won the Corporate, Financial and Stakeholder Relations category for its The Belgrave Road Flyover campaign.

The Public Sector and Third Sector Award was snapped up by Derbyshire County Council for its Wasting Food – It’s Bananas! campaign, while WAA won the Live, Launched and Loud Award for its work on The Gracechurch Centre’s 40th Birthday.

PRCA director general Francis Ingham said: "We would like to extend our congratulations to all of the winners of this year’s DARE Awards Midlands. All shortlisted entries were of an extremely high quality, and the winners should be incredibly proud of their work."
