GHC Asia has entered into a strategic alliance with TQPR, a Southeast Asian PR network with a strong presence in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as Myanmar.

Under the alliance, TQPR will service GHC Asia’s existing regional clients in Thailand, while the two companies will jointly seek opportunities to develop new business together.

"We did already have our own small presence in Bangkok, but we feel that the new strategic alliance will better enable us to more rapidly and significantly beef up our ability to serve clients in the Southeast Asian region," said Paul Hicks, CEO of GHCAsia.

"We also see great synergies between the two businesses. TQPR has strength and expertise in some of the areas we already operate in, like travel and tourism, hospitality and aviation, while also adding new areas of expertise, which we are trying to expand further into, such as automotive."

The alliance follows the 60 per cent acquisition of GHC Asia by advertising and marketing outfit the Hakuhodo Group last year, and is part of GHC Asia’s strategy to expand its regional offering.

TQPR was founded in 1995 and is headed by Tom Van Blarcom and Maetavarin Maneekulpan. Its client roster includes Airbus, Walt Disney, Etihad Airways, AJE Big Cola, Zespri, AXA, Lamborghini and CommVault.

GHC Asia was founded in Hong Kong in 1997 by Lynn Grebstad and Paul Hicks, and has hotels, resorts, luxury brands, high-end restaurants and the national tourism organizations of various countries as its main clients, and specializes in targeting higher-wealth consumers.
