Clift will take up his new role in June.
He has spent the past five years at the British Property Federation as head of comms and public affairs, working to promote the role of the UK property industry in the media and in Parliament.
At the BPF he co-ordinated high-profile campaigns on a range of issues including business rates, planning reform and housing.
At BNP Paribas Clift will run a PR team within the wider UK marketing team, working with the new head of research Simon Durkin, to communicate research and thought leadership campaigns to the property industry. He will also work with the international comms team in Paris.
Clift said: "As the only major UK company to offer the full spectrum of real estate services, including property development, BNPPRE has a fantastic story to tell.
"I leave the BPF after five extremely happy years helping to promote the role and contribution of the property industry in the UK. A thriving real estate sector is vital if we as a country are to meet the myriad of challenges facing us – from globalisation to technological change – and I look forward to developing this positive vision for real estate in my new role."
