CULVER CITY, CA: Sony Pictures Entertainment has named Robert Lawson as EVP and CCO, reporting to Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton and Sony Pictures Entertainment president Nicole Seligman, according to Deadline Hollywood. Lawson previously worked at Rubenstein Associates and has counseled the studio since it was targeted by hackers last November.

SAN JOSE, CA: PayPal has hired Paul Cohen as VP and global head of corporate communications, effective this month, according to his LinkedIn account. He previously served as SVP of corporate communications and marketing at Visa.

LOS ANGELES: Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has named Naomi Seligman as his communications director, effective next week, according to LA Weekly. She previously worked as communications director for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

DALLAS: Heroes for Children has named TrizCom Public Relations as its AOR. The nonprofit provides social and financial assistance to families fighting childhood cancer. It is headquartered in Dallas with an office in Houston and a presence in Austin, Texas.

WASHINGTON: CLS Strategies has promoted Ray De Lorenzi to SVP and DJ Carella to MD. The firm also hired Allison Bryan as managing associate in public affairs and Jonathan Ewing as managing associate of digital services.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL: Channel marketing company SproutLoud Media Networks has named Dreamweaver Brand Communications as its PR AOR. SproutLoud is a hyperlocal marketing platform that works with large brands across verticals, according to a Dreamweaver statement.

MONMOUTH OR: Western Oregon University’s Athletic Department has hired John Potter as director of media relations and external operations, effective June 15. He previously worked at Dixie State University as assistant coordinator of media relations for its athletics program.
