PR Rundown, 5.8.2015: IPG merges Mullen and Lowe

NEW YORK: Interpublic Group is merging Mullen and Lowe and Partners to form Mullen Lowe Group. Alex Leikikh, previously CEO of Mullen, was named chief executive of the combined firm, while Lowe and Company CEO Michael Wall will leave the company after a brief transition period, the holding company said in a statement. Jose Miguel Sokoloff will continue as chairman of the Global Creative Council.

DALLAS: Rave Restaurant Group, the parent company of Pie Five Pizza Co. and Pizza Inn, has brought on MWW as AOR. The firm’s Dallas office is leading account work. MWW will create a strategic communications campaign to boost brand awareness, manage national media relations, and develop thought leadership.

PITTSBURGH: Calgon Carbon has hired Daniel Crookshank as director of investor relations, effective on May 11. He will replace Gail Gerono, VP of IR, when she retires later this month, reporting to CFO Steve Schott. Crookshank was most recently director or IR at RTI International Metals.

NEW YORK: Boutique PR firm collaborative PR Boutiques International has added two members: Vienna, Austria-based Results & Relations and Andrew Joseph PR, headquartered in New York City. The alliance now has 32 member agencies in 12 countries.

NEW YORK: Ted Turner Expeditions has appointed Weill as PR counsel. The company covers more than 1.1 million acres of North American landscape, and it aims to give guests individual nature and wildlife experiences, according to a statement from the firm.
