NEW YORK: Porter Novelli has launched PNProtect, a cybersecurity service, that it said will help predict, prepare for, identify, and monitor online threats and attacks. It is powered by Rook Security, a cybersecurity technology company.

CHICAGO: Turner Public Relations has opened an office in Chicago, located in the city’s River North neighborhood. Melanie Dennig, director at the firm, is leading the location. It also hired Jeff Maldonado as VP of digital communications.

WASHINGTON: The Software Alliance has appointed Jen Beltz as VP of global communications, overseeing global comms strategy, messaging, and strategic outreach. She was previously campaign manager for Evan Falchuk’s unsuccessful candidacy for governor of Massachusetts.

WASHINGTON: The Optical Society has brought on Tracy Schario as chief external relations officer. She previously led advocacy communications for the Pew Charitable Trusts’ clean energy portfolio and was a spokesperson for George Washington University.
