Golin's NY office leader Telloni joins Sparkpr

Telloni joined Golin two years ago from Burson-Marsteller.

NEW YORK: Sparkpr has brought on Tony Telloni, former MD of Golin’s New York office, to serve as GM in the firm's New York office, effective May 5.

In the new role, he'll oversee the consumer, digital advertising and marketing, financial services, and technology practices, according to a Spark statement. He will report to Alan Soucy, CEO of the firm.

Telloni joined Golin in June 2013 after serving as the New York market leader at Burson-Marsteller since 2007.

Representatives from Spark declined to offer further details on Telloni’s role. Golin representatives did not respond to inquiry for comment about his departure.

During his time at Golin, Telloni reported to Gary Rudnick, president of the Americas. His tasks included driving growth, overseeing major accounts in the New York office, and handling day-to-day business operations and new business opportunities.

Last October, Golin moved international president Matt Neale from the UK to take on co-leadership of the New York office in addition to his existing duties. Neale partners with Rudnick in that market.

The Interpublic Group agency achieved an 8.5% increase in global revenue and a 7% uptick in US revenue last year, according to PRWeek’s 2015 Global Agency Business Report.

Prior to Burson, Telloni spent four years at Edelman, holding roles including SVP and deputy GM for the New York consumer brands division.

Telloni has also worked at FitzGerald Communications, Reciprocal, and Ruder Finn, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Last year, Spark hired former Golin corporate comms lead Gregory Papajohn for the newly created role of MD for financial technology and social innovation. Papajohn has since left Spark to serve as director at Cognito.

This story was updated on April 30 with more information about Telloni's role at Spark.
