Vtech drops Grayling and hires Speed following four-way pitch

Electronic toy company Vtech has appointed Speed Communications as its retained UK PR agency, after incumbent Grayling repitched for the account.

Speed's consumer and lifestyle division will work on the account led by director Nasima Hussain. The team will report to Vtech’s marketing director, Clive Richardson.

Vtech is known for bringing adult technology trends to children via products such as Vtech Smart Watch, Innotab tablet, and Kiddizoom camera.

Speed's brief is to raise awareness of the brand's product range among consumer media, parents, and gift-givers, launch new developments in the mobile device sector, and reinforce the brand's 'learning through play' message.

Richardson said: "Technology evolves at a heady pace and as such it is important that we continually review our partners to ensure that we are always ahead of the game when it comes to reaching consumers with our products. We were impressed by Speed creative approach to some of our forthcoming launches and their appreciation of the complexity in reaching our target audiences."

Hussain added: "Vtech is world renowned for innovative products that lead the whole toy industry whilst delighting children and parents alike. This is exactly the type of client we love to partner with and we are proud to be working with them."
