Comunica CEO Mikhail Umarov will become managing director of the new office and Alexandra Malania has been appointed as executive director.

Golin chief executive officer Fred Cook said: "We’re building on 11 years of trusted partnership with Comunica. During this time, Comunica has served a number of Golin’s clients, and restructured their agency into the g4 organisational model and launched innovative products. This is an important natural progression for our relationship."

Umarov added: "Our initial focus will be to serve international brands in the Russian market. Using Golin’s g4 model we can operate across all media channels. Our clients will be served by specialist teams, as opposed to the generalists found in more traditional agencies."

Umarov will join Golin’s global management team and report to president EMEA, Matt Neale. A number of Comunica’s clients and staff will immediately transfer across to the Golin brand.

Comunica provides a range of PR services including corporate, digital, brand marketing and cirsis comms. It became an affiliate partner of Golin, which has 50 offices worldwide, in 2004.
