Vevo calls in DawBell PR and appoints UK comms manager Dot Levine

Music video hosting service Vevo has appointed DawBell PR for a consumer and trade media brief, while hiring Dot Levine from UK Music as its new comms manager.

Entertainment and culture brand agency DawBell, whose clients include the BRIT Awards, Google Play Music and Take That, will create PR campaigns for key events that Vevo will host throughout the year.

Meanwhile Levine will be comms manager for the UK Vevo office. Levine has worked at UK Music, a campaigning and lobbying group representing the recorded and live music industry, for the past five years. She led the development and launch of app-based game Music Inc, which allows players to simulate the music industry by setting up their own companies, signing acts and taking them on tour.

Nic Jones,  executive vice-president at Vevo, said: "This is a game changer for us. On the agency side, DawBell bring a combination of unrivalled music industry knowledge and connections alongside some highly reputable media relationships to the table, making it a perfect fit for Vevo. Bringing Dot Levine over from UK Music is another great hire for us. With several years' experience in PR and having most recently worked closely on some of the biggest industry issues, she is perfectly suited to help us navigate through the rapidly changing landscape of the modern music business."

Vevo is operated by a joint venture of Universal Music Group, Google, Sony Music Entertainment and Abu Dhabi Media.
