Salterbaxter MSL brings on Joss for North American role

The hire comes after Publicis Groupe bought the UK-based firm last July and aligned it with MSLGroup.

NEW YORK: Salterbaxter MSLGroup has hired Kristina Joss as a senior consultant to leverage the sustainability expertise of the UK-based firm in North America.

She will be based in New York and report to Salterbaxter CEO Nigel Salter. Joss will also work closely with Scott Beaudoin, global practice director of MSLGroup’s corporate and brand citizenship practice, and MSLGroup New York MD Andrew Silver.

As senior sustainability consultant for North America, Joss will be responsible for supporting the firm’s US clients, as well as finding new opportunities for the business and aligning it with MSLGroup.

"I will be focused on growing the sustainability expertise offer from Salterbaxter in North America, providing on-the-ground support to new and existing clients, and building the joint offer of Salterbaxter and MSL as companies look for broader and consistent approaches to CSR and sustainability," Joss said.

Previously, she was a senior corporate adviser at London-based charity Business in the Community, a group that works on CSR issues in the UK. She managed a portfolio of 15 multinationals including Nestle, Shell, and Starbucks while there, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Earlier in her career, Joss was the Eurasia Foundation’s marketing and communications officer.

Publicis Groupe acquired Salterbaxter, which has about 70 employees, last July, and aligned the firm with MSLGroup. The firm has said it plans to grow Salterbaxter MSLGroup as a distinct entity focused on sustainability around the world. Although it rebranded the firm, it kept the shop’s existing management team in place, including Salter as CEO and Penny Baxter as MD.
