Waggener Edstrom creates new tech lead role for Beauparlant

The 14-year agency veteran has served as president of the Microsoft account.

SEATTLE: Waggener Edstrom Communications has promoted Dawn Beauparlant, a 14-year veteran of the firm and president of the Microsoft account, to the newly created role of technology leader for North America.

Beauparlant, who has also served as a board member at Waggener Edstrom for the last three years, will work closely with Lisa Allen, SVP and GM of San Francisco in the new role. She will also partner with Tiffany Cook, Aimee Corso, and Caroline Sanderson, the heads of consumer, healthcare, and social innovation, respectively.

Beauparlant reports to Jennifer Granston Foster and Pam Edstrom, who currently share the responsibilities of president of North America.

The firm said in a statement that Beauparlant has played an integral part in advancing its expertise in broadcast, branded partnerships, consumer technology, social media, and digital offerings during her tenure.

In 2010, Beauparlant was one of PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 honorees, and she was praised for her role in managing the communications process for Bill Gates' transition from day-to-day Microsoft leader to his post at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Representatives from Waggener Edstrom were not immediately for comment.
