John Lewis has best reputation among EMEA retailers

John Lewis has come out top in a study of corporate reputation among EMEA retailers across 16 countries, according to a study by research and consulting firm Reputation Institute.

As well as John Lewis, the top three included Matas in Denmark and Tods in Italy.

The study found companies that had shown most improvement from 2013 to 2014 were Pingo Doce in Portugal, WH Smith in the UK and H&M in Sweden.

Companies with the biggest decline in reputation were Marks & Spencer in the UK, Giorgio Armani in Italy and Primark in Ireland.

Nicolas Georges Trad, executive partner at Reputation Institute, said: "Our studies show that reputation dramatically influences a company’s business results, including stock value, revenue, market share and the likelihood of support from key stakeholders."

The Reputation Institute’s 2015 EMEA Retail results will be announced in May 2015.
