PR Rundown, 3.19.2015: FedEx, Golin, Detroit

FedEx is conducting a review and Golin has hired two digital directors.

MEMPHIS, TN: FedEx is reviewing its PR business. Patrick Fitzgerald, SVP of integrated marketing and communications at the company, confirmed the review with PRWeek. Ketchum is FedEx’s primary PR agency partner.

NEW YORK: Golin has hired Ashley Hurst and Jon Silver as digital directors based in the New York office. Hurst, who was previously director of global social media at Coach, will work with consumer brands such as PetSmart and Crayola. Silver will focus on the agency’s corporate clients. Prior to this he was deputy director of global marketing at Edelman, responsible for managing digital, social, and creative content at the firm.

DETROIT: The Downtown Detroit Partnership has named Lambert, Edwards & Associates its PR and social media AOR. DDP supports the city through various programs such as the Detroit Experience Factory, Downtown Detroit BIZ, and Live Downtown. Lambert, Edwards & Associates will help raise awareness of the nonprofit’s community events and programs through traditional PR, digital, and social media.
