The Hootsuite social platform is widely deployed for business and personal use. It claims more than 11 million users, including 744 of the Fortune 1000.
Waggener Edstrom says it will work in partnership with the company’s marketing and communications team on messaging, media relations, speaking platforms, influencer strategy, and delivering bespoke research.
Yvonne Tey, Marketing Director, APAC at Hootsuite highlighted to PRWeek that the company is pleased with its first 18 months performance in Asia and with Singapore as its regional hub.
"We have since grown our enterprise customer portfolio across the region exponentially. That said, there are still many opportunities in APAC," Tey explained "that are in line with Hootsuite’s global business direction, and we remain committed to pursuing them, working with key business partners and top talents to ensure we keep up the growth momentum. Through a well-rounded regional communications strategy, we will work closely with Waggener Edstrom on further growing Hootsuite’s brand presence, helping to drive business leads within the key APAC markets including Singapore, Malaysia and Australia."
Waggener Edstrom takes up the effort to provide strategic counsel to Hootsuite’s team to drive coverage and growth as a brand in the region. The agency says it has already worked with Hootsuite to develop a long-term communications strategy, redefining messaging priorities in APAC. It has also set up a measurement and analytics dashboard to track brand presence within the region.
Carolyn Camoens, Regional VP, Waggener Edstrom, Southeast Asia, said in the agency’s release "We’re thrilled to be working with Hootsuite to promote their brand as they bring their business to the APAC region."
Ogilvy reportedly held the account before Waggener Edstrom but had not given PRWeek comment before publishing this article. Hootsuite says it still works with Ogilvy for non-PR portions of the business.
Other key Waggener Edstrom clients in Asia include Akamai, Johns Hopkins, Microsoft, Osram, Qatar Airways, Skillsoft, Sony, Virgin Active, and ZTE.
