In-state firm Bradley Reid set to hold on to Alaska tourism account worth up to $75m

Work on the account will begin this summer.

JUNEAU, AK: Bradley Reid and Associates has tentatively won Alaska’s tourism marketing and advertising services contract worth up to $75 million, according to an intent-to-award document.

The Anchorage, Alaska-based firm is identified as the "apparent successful offeror" on the notice obtained by PRWeek. Protests have to be filed within 10 days of the notice, dated March 12, the document states. Firms listed on the document as "other offerors" include Ariadna, Mithun, Inc., and Strategies 360.

Representatives from Bradley Reid were not immediately available for comment. According to the agency’s website, it has handled Alaska’s tourism advertising work since 1988.

In January, PRWeek reported the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development was shopping around for an agency to work on a tourism advertising and marketing campaign with a budget worth up to $75 million. The account is anticipated to run from July 1 of this year through June 30, 2017, with three annual options to renew.

As previously reported, responsibilities are expected to include advertising, social media, content marketing, partnership marketing and joint ventures, maintaining Travel Alaska’s online presence, and other collateral materials.

Alaska Tourism representatives were not immediately available for comment.

Currently, Thompson & Co. Public Relations manages the state’s PR. The firm was re-signed for the business in 2012.
