Thompson envisages it as a "geeky club" that will act as a forum for the craft of PR, from ideas through to storytelling.
Unlike the film ‘Fight Club’, PR Club has just three rules.
The first is "no cupcakes, no complicated hairstyles, no puff".
Instead, the club will be an opportunity for people to discuss creative ideas and showcase their abilities.
The second rule is that members will not use the forum to discuss the "terrible reputation" of the industry, or how "advertising is moving in" or hand-wringing about why PR does not yet have a place "at the top table".
The final rule of PR Club is that a representative of a charity will be invited to each event and invited to speak, after which club members will offer advice and ideas.
Thompson said he has yet to organise a venue, dates for the inaugural meeting or snacks, but that those who are interested should contact him directly at email@example.com.
