NEW YORK: NBCUniversal has named Katherine Nelson as SVP of communications for Syfy and Chiller. She was previously SVP of communications for Esquire Networks since January 2013 and previously worked at SpaceX. Nelson will oversee teams in New York and Los Angeles in the role.

NEW YORK: EVC Group has hired Rob Swadosh as MD and lead of its integrated communications practice, based in New York. He was previously principal of the Dilenschneider Group and co-founded brand consultancy S2 Communications.

CHICAGO: Edelman has named Will Collie, previously director of healthcare for Edelman Australia for the past three years, as GM of health in its Chicago office, effective immediately. He will report to Edelman Chicago president Jay Porter.

NEW YORK: Registered dietician Sarah Lewis has joined MWW as manager of nutritional communications in the firm’s consumer practice. She previously worked at Ketchum and completed a dietetic internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

NEW YORK: Rooney & Associates Communications has brought on Len Costa as MD, leading its social and digital media practice. He was previously global head of communications and content strategy at the CFA Institute.

SHELTON, CT: Electrical and electronic product-maker Hubbell has appointed Maria Lee VP of corporate strategy and investor relations. She previously worked at United Technologies in various roles for the past six years.

SAN DIEGO: E-commerce company Monoprice has selected Havas Formula to execute a strategic PR initiative. The firm will work to raise brand awareness through  product reviews, blogger engagement, and thought leadership, among other initiatives. The agency’s consumer technology division in San Diego will lead account work.

NEW YORK: Identity and information security company SecureAuth has hired SpecOps Communications as its PR AOR. SecureAuth is the maker of security systems for cloud, mobile, Web, and VPN systems.

NEW YORK: Designer footwear brand Stuart Weitzman has tapped agency Karla Otto to oversee PR initiatives in the digital realm. The luxury, fashion, and beauty firm has a long relationship working with Stuart Weitzman in Europe.

ATLANTA: LED Medical Diagnostics has retained MZ Group as its investor relations adviser. It will help LED Medical with corporate communications with current and prospective investors and work to enhance awareness of the company in capital markets.

NOVI, MI: Cooper-Standard Holdings has appointed Roger Hendriksen as director of investor relations, effective immediately. He was previously president and principal at IRonStreet Consulting and led the IR function at Jaguar Mining.
