Diaz joins from Thomson Reuters where she has worked since 2000 in a dual role as global head of external comms for the financial & risk business and co-head of business comms.

At EY, previously known as Ernst & Young, she replaces Will White, who moved to global law firm Baker & McKenzie last year.

In her new role Diaz will oversee the strategy, planning and delivery of media relations globally.

Before Thomson Reuters, Diaz held senior comms roles at Alcatel-Lucent, both in the US and UK, and with AT&T Corporation.

John Rudaizky, EY’s global brand and external comms leader, said: "We have an ambitious brand acceleration programme to support the organisation’s overall growth strategy and goals. Yvonne will add further strength and perspective to help us deliver on our goals."

Diaz added: "This is a dynamic, growing global organisation that empowers businesses across the world and has a strong sense of purpose. I look forward to playing a pivotal role in its continued development."
