Video: 'Believe in yourself' - how to get ahead as a woman in PR

Ahead of our upcoming special edition on women in PR, PRWeek spoke to several senior female comms professionals from our Mentoring Project about their experiences of working in the sector. They also offer advice for other women about being successful in the industry.

Filming took place at the London office of MHP, whose chairman Sally Costerton was among the mentors. The year-long Mentoring Project saw 15 senior women in PR being allocated a 'mentee' who was given guidance and advice about their career.

A poll by PRWeek today found that two-thirds of people either strongly or largely agree that the PR industry is sexist.

The poll was conducted after a study from the CIPR revealed last week that male PR professionals are paid an average of £8,500 more than women, solely because of gender.
