Grayling Health will provide health and wellness comms services across the region. It will support marketing and comms schemes implemented by government health authorities, hospitals and medical centres.
The new division will be led by Petra Gelb, head of healthcare for Middle East, Turkey and Africa and director of client services at Grayling Qatar.
Gelb said: "Our experience in the region has highlighted some very specific needs for insight-driven communication campaigns that engage healthcare professionals, patients and consumers and motivate them to change their behaviour in a positive and meaningful way."
Neil Matheson, global chief executive of Huntsworth Health, said: "Grayling Health combines Huntsworth Health’s knowledge of disease prevention, diagnosis, and management with the local cultural, language and regulatory experience and expertise of Grayling."
The news follows a busy period for Grayling, which is currently without a group chief executive after Pete Pedersen resigned in January.
Earlier this month Grayling hired former Daily and Sunday Express money and business editor David Andrews to head a new financial services and wealth management arm.
Huntsworth issued a profit warning in July and interim results in August showed revenue falls at Grayling, Citigate and Red, offset by growth at Huntsworth Health.
