NEW YORK: Finn Partners has once again landed the I Love New York tourism PR account.

An Empire State Development representative confirmed in an email to PRWeek that Finn Partners won the contract, which "is not yet finalized and going through the approval process."

Peter Finn, managing partner at Finn Partners, said the agency is "very pleased" about the account win.

"Tourism is an important sector for us – we have about 50 who just work on tourism accounts," he said. The agency also represents the Jamaica Tourism Board, which Finn noted is one of the firm’s "largest accounts in the tourism sector."

Finn Partners, which has supported the I Love New York campaign for four years, submitted a proposal to continue working on the account when it went up for review last fall, Finn explained.

State development officials released an RFP in October 2014 seeking a firm "to plan, coordinate, implement, and administer public relations for the state’s iconic I Love New York campaign," according to the document. The agency is also responsible for "translating the brand awareness into action."

While contract details were not available, the RFP stated a yearly budget of up to $600,000. The contract is expected to run for two years with two annual options to renew.

Last week, Finn Partners revealed plans to buy DVL Public Relations & Advertising and Seigenthaler Public Relations in Nashville, then merge the two firms into one known as DVL Seigenthaler, as it expands into the Southeastern US.
