Ollie Wilson leaves CLA to launch Brighton-based agency MatchFit Media

Ollie Wilson has left his role as director of comms at the Country Landowners of England and Wales (CLA) to launch MatchFit Media, a PR and contract publishing agency in Brighton.

Wilson has launched the agency with business partner Laura King. She will direct its digital work and oversee brand development.

The agency will provide PR, contract publishing and digital marketing to the technology, hospitality, food, environment, tourism and entertainment sectors.

Wilson has been director of comms for the CLA since 2008. During his time there he also published its membership magazine Land & Business.

He has previously worked in comms roles at the British Horse Society and for the Catholic Church of England and Wales. He was also the Catholic Church's head of news from 2002 to 2003.

Wilson said: "It is time to run my own show. I have enjoyed all of my jobs as a national reporter, comms director and financial agency account handler but, after 30 years in the business, there is nothing like starting your own company."

Since launching, the agency has been appointed by Cisco partner Ideal Networks to manage its PR.

Wilson added: "We have also been working on a project basis for The Open University and, in Brighton, for a new restaurant chain, a new supermarket group and a tourism app start-up."
