App Annie, which has its headquarters in San Francisco, has also opened a London office to increase its global presence. Chameleon will start work on the account this month.

Chameleon CEO Tom Berry said: "App Annie is right at the heart of the app economy – providing the data, insight and analytics behind app downloads, monetisation and usage. Together, Chameleon and App Annie will continue to build its profile and support its rapid growth and innovation in this hugely important market."

Olivier Bernard, vice-president of EMEA at App Annie, said: "Since App Annie’s formation, we have tracked more than $24bn of app store revenue across iOS and Google Play, helping numerous businesses gain valuable insight into their products. As we continue to grow and evolve we wanted a UK PR firm that shared our ethos and vision. Chameleon fits the bill and really understands the industry we operate in and what’s required to take us to the next level."
